Getting a professional manicure is one
of my favorite indulgences. When I don't
have the time or the means for a trip to
the salon, here's how I do it at home!

1 Prep
Soak hands in warm,
soapy water. Remove
any old polish
completely.
2 Shape
Cut and file your
nails. I like to keep
mine really short and
slightly rounded.
3 Cuticles
Push back using a
metal tool then trim (or
just use a hand creme
if you're opposed to
cutting them).
4 Buff
The most important
step! Buffing ensures
that the polish goes
on smoothly and
cleaner overall.
5 Paint
Apply one broad stripe
down the center. Push
down the brush for the
sides to cover the edges.
Add one more coat. Finish
with a clear top coat.
What's your best-kept secret for nails?
